Building the food

Other

Minimum order / sample

add

remove

After building your dog's food you can choose the bag size. Our smallest bag is 4 kg.

The taste of our kibble has already been put to the test by more than 10,000 dogs. But every four-legged buddy is different, so give them enough time to judge whether they like the food and whether it agrees with them. A 4 kg bag is ideal for that kind of trial, which is why we don't offer smaller bags.

On top of that, the 4 kg trial bag comes with a 100% money-back guarantee. If the kibble doesn't agree with your dog or they don't like it, we'll refund the trial bag or send you a different recipe.

Bag sizes / changing the quantity

add

remove

We pack our kibble in bags of 4 kg and 10 kg.

After building your dog's food and adding it to your cart, you can use the “+” and “−” buttons to easily change the quantity of food you order.

Kibble size

add

remove

Our kibble is coin-shaped and its size depends on who it's for:
Adult dogs: approx. 1.5 × 0.3 cm
Puppies: approx. 0.8 × 0.3 cm

In the stomach, the pieces don't swell. The larger pieces for adult dogs are sized to encourage chewing, which helps mechanically remove dental plaque. According to our customers, even mini breeds manage them just fine.

How is the kibble made?

add

remove

To make 1 kg of kibble we use approx. 1 kg of fresh meat, with no meat meal. The meat is minced at approx. 19 °C and mixed with the other ingredients, whose moisture we adjust so that the final product keeps a 50% meat share. Within a few seconds the mixture passes through an extruder, where it is processed with steam at a temperature of up to 90 °C. Thanks to our patented technology, production is gentle and preserves the original nutritional values of the ingredients used.

Is the kibble cold-pressed?

add

remove

RawBark kibble is not cold-pressed. The cold-pressing method can't process fresh meat. For safety and digestibility reasons, cold pressing has to use pre-cooked ingredients (meat meal), because the low temperature during pressing guarantees neither safe inactivation of pathogenic microorganisms in animal ingredients nor sufficient starch gelatinisation and inactivation of anti-nutritional substances in plant ingredients. That cancels out all the advertised benefits of cold pressing.

Note: In independent palatability tests, dogs clearly preferred extruded kibble over cold-pressed kibble.

What about preservatives in the kibble?

add

remove

RawBark kibble contains no chemical preservatives. Fats are protected from oxidation naturally, for example with rosemary extract, vitamin E (tocopherols) and vitamin C (ascorbic acid).

What % of the kibble is meat?

add

remove

Our patented production technology lets us add 100 % fresh meat to the share of other ingredients, whose moisture is set so that the same percentage of water evaporates as from the meat. This keeps the ratio of meat to other ingredients the same in the final product.

Note: Approx. 1 kg of fresh meat goes into every 1 kg of kibble.

What is the quality of the meat in the kibble?

add

remove

We use quality meat from Czech farms, which meets all hygiene requirements for products intended for human consumption. Meat quality affects how tasty and digestible our kibble is, so we only work with muscle meat.

(This means the kibble contains no hard tissues of slaughtered animals, such as bones, heads, beaks, feet, etc.)

Delivery time

add

remove

TIP: Running out of kibble? Write to us at podpora@rawbark.cz, get in touch on social media or call +420 773 726 516. We'll be happy to prioritise your order if we possibly can.

Is RawBark kibble suitable for puppies too?

add

remove

Yes, our kibble is suitable for puppies too. Based on the date of birth you enter in our questionnaire, we recognise that your dog is a puppy and adjust the kibble size, food composition and recommended feeding amount.

The daily portion is adjusted automatically as your puppy grows and we'll e-mail you whenever it changes. You'll also find the current recommended portion in your account under My pack.

Note: The puppy's weight you enter is only a guide. When calculating the daily portion up to one year of age, we mainly work from the expected adult weight of the breed and sex.

Is RawBark kibble suitable for older dogs too?

add

remove

If your dog's teeth already show signs of wear and age, chewing kibble may be harder for them. Our food is suitable for dogs that have no trouble chewing.

Note: Some lower-quality industrially made kibble can be softened by soaking it in water. Thanks to its high quality and meat content, our kibble keeps its shape, so it can't be softened this way. One option is to crush it lightly.

Can RawBark kibble change the colour of my dog's coat?

add

remove

No, RawBark kibble won't change your dog's coat colour.

Coat colour can be affected by beta-carotene, found for example in carrots. We're aware of this, so we remove the beta-carotene from carrots during production. We keep the other antioxidants and fibre, without any change to coat colour.

Is RawBark kibble hypoallergenic?

add

remove

Yes, our kibble is hypoallergenic and single-protein, which means it contains only one main source of animal protein.

My dog has allergies. How do I build suitable food for them?

add

remove

Click the button Build your dog's food. In the questionnaire about your dog, at the question whether they're allergic or dislike anything, select “Unfortunately, yes”. You'll then see a list of allergens, where you can select all of your four-legged buddy's known allergens.

Based on the information you enter, the system will suggest a suitable recipe. If your dog has several allergies or more complex dietary restrictions, we recommend talking the choice through with us individually.

Can peas in the kibble cause wind?

add

remove

Thanks to our processing technology, the peas have a reduced carbohydrate content, so they can't cause wind.

Which food do you recommend?

add

remove

To recommend a food, we need you to fill in a short questionnaire about your dog. Click the button Build your dog's food and answer a few questions. Based on your answers, we'll recommend food tailor-made for your four-legged buddy.

Once you finish the questionnaire, you'll see the full composition of the recommended food, including an explanation of each ingredient, its percentage, the analytical constituents and nutritional additives.

I couldn't find my breed

add

remove

If your breed isn't in the list, click the button “Unknown breed”, which you'll find next to the breed selection (below it on mobile). Then choose the breed size (small, medium or large), or select the most similar breed.

For adult dogs, this choice has little effect on the final recipe. For puppies, however, the recommended daily portion may differ.

Note: We'd be grateful if you e-mailed the name of the missing breed to info@rawbark.cz. That way we can add it to our system as soon as possible. Thank you.

Can I change my dog's photo?

add

remove

Yes, you can change your dog's photo at any time in your account under My pack (the pencil button next to your dog's photo) or on your dog's food page – just click the dog's photo on the bag image.

How do I change the type of meat in the recipe?

add

remove

The easiest way to change the type of meat is in the questionnaire: at the question “Is your dog allergic or is there anything they don't like?” choose “Unfortunately, yes” and select the type of meat you're currently using. It then won't appear in the final recipe and the system will recommend another suitable option.

Can I order food for several dogs in one order?

add

remove

Yes, one order can include food for several dogs. Click the button Build your dog's food and fill in the questionnaire for your first dog. Then add their food to the cart and in the same way build the food for your next four-legged buddy.

How do I switch to a new food properly?

add

remove

For a smooth switch to a new food, we recommend that for at least 3–5 days you gradually mix the new kibble with the old food, which your dog is used to and tolerates well. This gives the digestive system time to adjust to the change and reduces the risk of tummy troubles.

If you can't mix the two foods, we recommend that for the first few days you split the daily portion into 2–3 smaller meals.

TIP: If your dog refuses their old food after tasting RawBark kibble, give them a full portion of RawBark so they don't go hungry. :-)

Isn't B.A.R.F. better?

add

remove

Whether you feed your dog B.A.R.F. or kibble is, of course, up to you. But feeding RawBark has its advantages. Our kibble is professionally formulated to cover your dog's nutritional needs, including all the necessary nutrients, vitamins and minerals. We make it from fresh meat without any meat meal and thanks to our technology it reaches up to 95% digestibility. It goes without saying that the food is also safe and healthy and enriched with superfoods.

TIP: Our customers who feed B.A.R.F. often use RawBark as a practical food for travelling or as a supplement to their usual way of feeding.
